What We Do
Daniel’s Music Foundation (DMF) was founded in 2006 by the Trush Family after one of five undetected brain aneurysms burst inside the head of their son, Daniel.

Through music, performance, and community, DMF empowers people with disabilities to express themselves authentically. At our 8,700 square-foot fully accessible music center in New York City, and through our Online Community, we serve thousands of individuals locally and nationally. Our mission is to provide a comfortable, educational, and social environment in which individuals of all abilities can enjoy, learn, and practice the joy of music together.

Beyond our music programs, we host two signature events each year: The Danny Awards® (hosted live in New York City) and Hello Inclusion®: A Festival of Possibilities (hosted in July at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - the original site of Woodstock 1969). In addition, through our record label (Just Call Me By My Name®), we are challenging stereotypes about artists with disabilities and working to build a more inclusive society for all.
